1,000 extended cousins have now contacted me after finding my websites. Years ago, I wondered if the effort to create the sites was worth the investment of time. I wish all of my investments had such fantastic returns.

I've lost count of how many genealogy related sites, blogs and repositories I'm using and author now. Fortunately, I've opted to feed data from each of them into the design of the other sites. Why? Each site offers tools not available on the others.

Anciently (a year or so ago) designs of this nature it was called a 'Mashup'. Then the title changed to Web 2.0 and the concept continues to evolve along with the name today. Tomorrow, it will just be the way we use the web with no special name.
